In April 2023, CanSAVE held its inaugural, in-person International Scientific Symposium at UBC Robson. Invited participants included BC RESURECT members, all CanSAVE members, representatives from BC Emergency Health Services, the Heart & Stroke resuscitation team, persons with lived experience (survivors), and six international experts in the CanSAVE research areas.

The meeting was successful, allowing 40+ international and Canadian experts to share and workshop ideas and to refine strategic direction for our six transformative research programs. The symposium affirmed that CanSAVE was an important organization for continued collaborations in Canadian Resuscitation science development.
